Jerusalem

The city of Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian state and its largest historical city, and
it occupies the largest place among its cities.
As the area of โ€‹โ€‹Jerusalem is 125,156 kmยฒ, or 48,323 square miles, and it rises 754 meters from
sea level, or 2,474 feet.
It is the cradle of the three monotheistic religions, Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
It was founded by the Canaanites about 3000 years BC, and it was inhabited by the
Jebusites, and it was named after them as (Jebus).
Al-Quds has many names, including: Bayt Al-Maqdis, the First Qiblah, and Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

Population

The population of the city of Jerusalem is 933,113 thousand people, according to statistics
in 2012 AD, where the population density is 7,464 thousand people per square km.
The population consists of a mixture of the Palestinian Arab population and the Israeli occupation population.

Al-Aqsa Mosque: It is one of the most important holy sites for Muslims, and in its center is
the Dome of the Rock.

Dome of the Rock: The Dome of the Rock is located to the north of the campus of Al-Aqsa
Mosque with its dome, this mosque is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in the
world, it was built during the era of the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marawan in the
tallest area inside the Haram

Alqiama church : Alqiama church is located in the northwestern part of Jerusalem, in the
Christian Quarter, within the walls of its old town. In Palestine, it is considered one of the
oldest and holiest churches among Christians, and they make pilgrimages to it every year.

The gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque: There are 15 gates leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque, of which 10
are open and five are closed. Most of the gates are located on the western wall of the mosque.

Western Wall: Western Wall, also called Wailing Wall, in the Old City of Jerusalem, a place of
prayer and pilgrimage sacred to the Jewish people.

Al-Mughrabi Mosque: It is located next to the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the western side.

The Jerusalem Wall: The Jerusalem Wall surrounds the old part of the city, which is called the
Old City, and the Jerusalem Wall has several gates: Damascus Gate. Hebron Gate. Mughrabi Gate. Watchful door. New door. Lions Gate. The door of the Prophet David.
