Mogadishu is located in Somalia, specifically on the western coast of the Indian Ocean. It is the capital and largest city of Somalia.
Before the establishment of the Suez Canal, it was considered a very important commercial
center, as it was the meeting point between Europe and the Indian subcontinent and
between the African coast and the Arabian Peninsula, and it was over time the link between these areas.
The climate in the city is generally dry, as the total precipitation rate is low .

What is Mogadishu famous for?

Mogadishu is famous for the cultivation of bananas, cotton, as well as sugar cane, as the
Shabelle River passes there and supplies crops and plants with the water they need to irrigate them.
However, in some seasons it experiences drought and in others it causes floods.
The beaches of Mogadishu are considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world,
as the presence of coral reefs there
In addition to the beauty of the sands of its beaches, it makes it a tourist and attractive
place for tourists from all over the world.

Population

Mogadishu has a population of approximately more than 2 million people, and it enjoys a large and distinctive ethnic diversity.
The indigenous people of the country are those whose origins go back to the Bushman tribe. Here, too, the population is of Arab, Persian and Kushite origins, and there are a
number of expatriates, especially from Italy.
This city pays great attention to the field of education, as civil problems could not prevent it
from developing this sector, as there are many educational institutions and higher
education, including the University of Mogadishu and it is considered one of the best universities in Africa.
