The city of Taif is an Arabic city located approximately 120.7 km to the south of Makkah, which is based on the back of Jabal Ghazwan, which is approximately 557.42 m in height.
It is adjoined from the western side by the governorates of Al-Kamil, from the northern side by Madinah Al-Munawwarah, from the eastern side by Al-Mawaih, Torbah, and Maysan governorates, and from the southern side by Maysan and Al-Laith governorates.

The city was named Taif, in reference to the wall or wall that surrounded the city, and its old name was the city of Huwaj.

Al-Shifa is the second most important landmark in the Kingdom in the city of Taif. It is very similar to Al-Hada in its natural characteristics, which lie to the north of it.
